Technical Description of ZCL Type Elastic Pin Coupling with Brake Wheel

The ZCL Type Elastic Pin Coupling with Brake Wheel is a general-purpose coupling integrating elastic pin transmission + brake wheel braking in one unit.

Designed in accordance with GB/T 5015, it is suitable for medium and small power working conditions with frequent start-stop/braking. Its core performance includes a simple structure, lubrication-free operation, reliable braking, moderate compensation capacity, easy maintenance, and low cost, while its vibration reduction and load-bearing capacity are lower than those of heavy-duty couplings.

Core Performance Features

  • Integrated Transmission and Braking: The half-coupling, nylon elastic pins, and brake wheel are integrated as a single unit. Torque is transmitted via the pins, and the brake wheel cooperates with a brake to achieve rapid braking. It is suitable for equipment requiring frequent start-stop such as cranes and conveyors, simplifying the shafting layout.
  • Adaptable Load-Bearing and Torque Capacity: Covering a nominal torque range of 250–31500N·m (per GB/T 5015), with a permissible rotational speed ≤6000rpm and an operating temperature range of -20℃~+70℃. The nylon elastic pins are self-lubricating and maintenance-free, making it ideal for medium-speed, medium and small power transmission.
  • Moderate Misalignment Compensation Capacity: Capable of compensating for axial misalignment of 10mm, radial misalignment of ±0.3mm, and angular misalignment of ≤0.5°. It can adapt to installation errors and slight shafting deformation, reducing alignment accuracy requirements.
  • Buffering and Overload Protection: The nylon elastic pins undergo shear deformation to buffer impact loads and can withstand 200% instantaneous overload, preventing rigid impact damage to motors, reducers, and other components. It is well-suited for light to moderate impact working conditions.
  • Advantages in Maintenance and Cost: Featuring a simple structure with few parts, the pins can be replaced by simply removing the baffle without moving the half-coupling, enabling fast installation and commissioning. It also offers low procurement and maintenance costs.
  • Limitations: Its vibration and noise reduction performance is inferior to that of elastic sleeve couplings and plum blossom couplings. Nylon elastic pins are prone to aging under long-term heavy loads, making it unsuitable for high-frequency impact, high-precision transmission, or strong corrosive environments.
